I have compared several schools before my decision. I want to learn Chinese well and I also like to know Chinese culture. And I think the attitude of the teacher, the consultant here are all very positive. I like to stay with them and get the care from th
I was on my way back from China. I had a layover of quite a few hours in Kennedy airport. To keep myself from getting
bored I found a corner and was practicing my guitar. Classical guitar is not very loud so it doesn’t usual disturb anyone. After
practicing a young man came up to me and said, I’m a guitarist too. He was around 22 and was on his way to Mexico. I gave
him a set of sandpaper that guitarist use to file their nails. It had my address and telephone number. 3 or 4 months went by. I
was practicing and the bell door rang. I was in Granada Spain. There was the young man with his suit case and his guitar. I
invited him in. He explained that he wanted to study in Granada and he wanted to study flamenco guitar. He had gone to school
in New York and graduated from the Russian Institute at Colombia University so we had a lot of mutual friends. I invited him to
stay at the house. He rented a room from me and I more or less guided him in his studies. Little did I know that Kai had come
from a very prominent business family. His parents had just gotten divorced and he was at a loss as what to do. Kai studied
many hours a day and was a real pleasure to have around. I had another Chinese student in the house. Kai had a tattoo on the
bottom of his foot. He had had a Chinese girl friend in New York. They both got a Tattoo; one had WO 我 and the other had men
们. The two characters together mean we. Kai went on to be a well know flamenco guitarist and grew up to be a fine young man.
His parents both called me to thank me for taking in their son. I thank them for raising such a wonderful young man.
